Just a couple of things - protector as some kind of street hockey player, and an idea for how the hero shows her 'dark' side. Basically just working from everyone else's amazing ideas!
I really like your idea fr the hero, the closed jacket vs open, and the hair down vs up (plus the change of attitude of course) really can make a lot of difference without having to actually change the char.
